Sonic has over 100,000 drink combinations, and the Sonic Cherry Limeade is one of their favorite drink combinations. In college, a friend of mine, Russ Stevens, introduced me to this drink and I still think it is one of my favorite drink combinations at Sonic.
You can put together one of these at home. It’s simple to do and only takes a few minutes.

Sonic Cherry Limeade Ingredients
This is what you need to make the drink:
- Sprite
- Cherry Syrup
- Fresh Lime
For the cherry juice, you have a couple of options. You can purchase a jar of Maraschino cherries and simply use some of the juice. Or you can buy a bottle of the juice like The Royal Cherry Maraschino Syrup.
How to Make Cherry Limeade
- Pour the cherry syrup into a tall glass.
- Add the juice from the lime.
- Add Sprite.
- Add ice.
- Garnish with a cherry or lime wedge if desired.
Hands down, this refreshing beverage has to be one of the most popular drinks at Sonic Drive-In. Everyone loves cherry limeade.

Ingredients
- 12 ounces Sprite
- 2 tablespoons Cherry Syrup
- 1/3 Lime
- 1 cup Ice
Instructions
Pour the cherry syrup into a tall glass.
Squeeze the lime over the glass to put the juice in the glass.
Add Sprite.
Add ice.
Garnish with a lime wedge or cherry if desired.
Notes
Recently a manager of a Sonic suggested to me that you should use Grenadine to get a slightly more bitter flavor 🙂
If you have access to Slice Lemon Lime made by Pepsi please use this instead of Sprite. It does provide a better taste.

I worked at the local Sonic Drive-In in Southeast TN. We actually used Sprite instead of Pepsi products because our district was contracted for Coca-Cola products. For a medium sized Cherry Limeade (20 oz.) follow this recipe:
1- 1 1/2 cup(s) ice
2 tbsp of cherry syrup (sno cone syrup works fine)
1/4 of 1 lime; squeezed, and the entire contents placed inside glass/cup (yes, even the lime)
1 marachino cherry
fill the rest of the glass/cup with SpriteFor a “cherry-er” taste, add more cherry syrup and for a “lime-ier” taste, add more lime. We had customers that liked more or less of either of the two main ingredients. Just play around with the ingredients to suit your personal taste.
Also, Sonic had a sugar-free version which utilized sugar-free cherry syrup; which can be found in the sno cone syrup section at any Wal-Mart, and Diet Sprite.
