Best British Recipes

Our best British recipes include fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, Scotch eggs and plenty more recipes that bring out the best of British cooking.

Traditional British recipes are the classic, foolproof recipes that we know and rely on. They pick us up when we’ve had a bad day and warm us up on those cold winter evenings. There’s something very comforting about a traditional steak, kidney, ale and mushroom pie, or a cottage pie and they are also big family favourites so you know you cant go wrong with them.

Kick off a party or barbecue with our Scotch eggs – they’re so easy to make and guests will find them delightfully moreish, as well as our herby sausage rolls – your guests won’t be able to hold back and they’ll be devoured in a matter of minutes.

These stunning cherry and almond scones (pictured) are a take on the classic recipe and the cherry and almond go perfectly together. Scones couldn’t be more quintessentially British – enjoying them at afternoon tea is a tradition that dates back to the 17th Century, so why not kick back and indulge a little with these lovely little treats.

In the way of British desserts, we have raspberry elderflower fool, which evokes summer with its light, floral, seasonal flavours, strawberries in Pimm’s (what could be more British than that combination!), and sherry trifle.

Everyone loves Victoria sponge cake, and we’ve made a slight change to it, baking it into a loaf, rather than a classic cake shape, without changing everything you love about this cake in terms of flavour. This truly is a summertime favourite.
